iPhone, therefore iMap

I keep hearing that irony is dead—but it doesn’t seem that way to me, really. This modern life seems full of irony, starting with our relationship to technology.
I’m in the most primitive, kinesthetic groove in human history. My business as a professional Skin Therapist consists of asking strangers to get naked and lie down in a darkened room. Then I come up behind them, run my bare hands all over their face, applying powerful herbs and other compounds. Kinda cave-dweller-ish, in the best sense.
Yet, I could not be more thrilled with my iPhone—because now, thanks to Simon Winsall, our IT guru in the UK, we can all use this handy device to keep our skin in killer form. Simon says, “Our new Dermalogica iPhone app is a quick, convenient way to get a personalized product prescription. Tell it your skin concerns and watch as a regimen is prepared, so you know which Dermalogica products are best for you. We have more features coming soon with a store locator, and a handy directory of our entire product range.”
I like the combination of the high-touch with the high-tech. It may be ironic, but it’s a powerful fusion for the brave new world.
